Challenge: Translate Marshall McLuhan’s ideas about media and perception into a visual experience that feels contemporary while preserving the familiarity of a traditional book format.
Solution: Developed an experimental editorial system using expressive typography, mixed-media imagery, CMYK-inspired colors, and digital distortion. Interactive elements, including a red “mini TV” screen, were added to encourage physical engagement with the content.
Deliverables: A fully redesigned book featuring experimental page layouts, typography treatments, mixed-media compositions, and an interactive mini-TV element.
Outcome: The final redesign transforms the book into an immersive reading experience that reinforces its central message: the medium influences how information is perceived, interpreted, and understood.
Tools: Illustrator • InDesign • Photoshop • Laser-cutting
